Sonic Origins cheats: Super Sonic, level select, and more

Sonic Origins brings back the classic games, and what’s more classic than cheat codes? We’ll tell you how to unlock, level select, debug mode, and more.

Would any retro game be truly complete without cheat codes? Sonic Origins brings the classic 2D sonic games to the promised land once more with improved visuals, wide-screen support, and all the classic platforming action. Minus Michael Jackson’s music, unfortunately.

If you’re a sonic fan, then you’ve probably played these three games many times over the years, so rather than jumping in and playing the games like normal again, why not create some chaos? We’ve got the full list of Sonic Origins cheats to let you screw with your game however you please. This information is sourced from RetroResolve and AOTF.

Debug mode controls – Sonic Origins

Debug mode gives you complete freedom on a level. It’s what many survival games now call Creative Mode. You can fly around freely and can place items wherever you want, including many of the background elements.

  • Debug mode on/off – B on Xbox/Switch, Circle on PlayStation.

  • Item scroll – A on Xbox/Switch, X on PlayStation.

  • Place item – X on Xbox/Switch, Square on PlayStation.

Infinite coins – Sonic Origins

If you’re short on coins for the in-game shop, then there’s an easy way to get as many as you want thanks to debug mode. One of the items you can spawn is the little box that gives you rings when you break them. If you were to spawn loads of them you can finish a level with 999 rings, which will translate into a small fortune of coins. Of course, you can do this as many times as you like for infinite coins.
